News #7: Over 90 Participants Joined 2-Mile Race in Freezing Weather

On a brisk -12°C (10.4°F) Sunday in Chelyabinsk, Russia, 76 enthusiastic runners, some even in costume, braved the cold to line up for the challenging 2-mile Sri Chinmoy run, highlighting the city’s growing passion for fitness and outdoor activities.

Alongside the main race, 20 children took part in a shorter run designed to introduce young athletes to the joy of running. Their excitement and energy added a family-friendly vibe to the event, earning cheers from both spectators and fellow runners.

News #2: Sri Chinmoy Art & 3100 Race Movie Featured at Mate Festival, Portugal

From October 19th to 22nd, Coimbra, Portugal, hosted Mate, an international festival celebrating art, education, and technology. Two projects from the Sri Chinmoy Centre were voted on by the public and subsequently chosen by the jury to be showcased: a Jharna-Kala art presentation and the premiere of the film 3100: Run and Become.

This event has opened exciting opportunities for 2025, including Jharna-Kala exhibitions from February to June and screenings of the film in three additional cities. Our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved and most of all to our beloved Guru.

Video #238: 27th Sri Chinmoy 6-12-24 Hour Race – Belgrade (21-22.9.2024)

On September 21-22, the Belgrade Centre and Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team held an amazing ultra-running event with 90 participants across three races. Runners from 11 countries gave their best, with support teams from Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Croatia.

Three race records were broken by Croatia’s top runners:

•⁠ 12-hour women’s record: 130 km
•⁠ 24-hour women’s record: 220 km
•⁠ 24-hour men’s record: 240 km

Video #236: The 3100 Mile Race – Insights from the 2023 Edition

The Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Race 3100 Mile race takes place annually over 52 days, with runners traversing a .5488 mile loop around a sports field, playground, and high school in Jamaica, Queens, New York City. To finish, runners must average close to 60 miles per day.

Video #233: Sri Chinmoy 24-Hour, 12-Hour & Midnight Marathon (New York –  June 8-9, 2024)

On June 8-9, 2024, the Sri Chinmoy 24-Hour, 12-Hour & Midnight Marathon at Rockland Lake State Park, just 45 min. north of NYC, took place. Featuring a scenic, “pancake flat” and fast 2.95 mile paved loop around beautiful Rockland Lake, the races were a resounding success, with nearly 170 runners participating in the challenging events. The breakdown of participants included:

– 24-Hour Race: 40 runners
– 12-Hour Race: 78 runners
– Midnight Marathon: 51 runners

The dedication and effort of the participants, along with the support from volunteers and organizers, contributed to the smooth running and overall success of the races.

Video #228: First Sri Chinmoy 24-12-6 Hour Race – Skopje (8-9.6.2024)

The First Sri Chinmoy 24-12-6 hour race in Skopje took place this weekend, featuring 47 participants, including three 3100-mile finishers. In the 24-hour race, Andrea Marcato won the men’s category with 165 km, while Katerina Sipovic, the national Macedonian champion, won the women’s category with 175 km. Ayojan added a heartfelt touch to the awards ceremony, making it a memorable event. The runners were extremely happy and satisfied with the event. Start of the Sri Chinmoy Albert Park Half Marathon in Melbourne today, 9th June 2024, with close to 700 runners participating in a half marathon, plus 10K and 5K events.
